Happy July 1st IWSG!!!

                                             IWSG Badge

Taking time from blogging and focusing on teaching had been good for me, but I'm ready to jump back in and try again! There are quite a few "fresh starts" on this blog, and each of them are real and good for their time. A fresh start is good for you! Making life count. Making memories. Creating time to do the things you love.

I have a new manuscript ready to send out, and while it's exciting, it's exhausting. My last publisher closed due to health reasons, and now the hunt begins anew.

While writing is a major part of who I am, I am thankful to see my kids venturing into the world of writing! My oldest has a publisher reviewing her manuscript. This will be her first novel! I'll keep you updated!

The July 1st question for the IWSG - July 1 question - There have been many industry changes in the last decade, so what are some changes you would like to see happen in the next decade? Goodness, so many changes! I think all publishers should be in a place to accept email submissions. To me, it's a red flag if they don't.

Have a fabulous day writer friends! Tell me what you're working on. Rough draft? Editing? Procrastinating - I'm the queen, so don't even try to take my place! hahaha.

A to Z Challenge - Letter B

Letter B post is late today.
BURN

There is so much to consider in preparation for a garden spot. Once the area was cleared, I made a huge burn pile. It's exciting to see the spot coming along. I love working outside. Writing comes easy when you give the mind time to be at peace. Short post for the short time left to post.

A to Z Challenge - Letter A

I've started the A to Z challenge for the last two years, and I've tried to do the same theme. I've tried to start a little garden area outside my house, and I anticipated using the A to Z challenge to write my way through the process. Well, two years ago I made it to the letter C. Last year I made it to B. How about this year I make it all the way through! So for my posts this year I'm going to complete my small garden, I'll be posting the creative way we are using our time at our house, and fun surprises along the way.

ASSESS
I have the perfect little space for where I want to plant a garden. However, it's completely covered with weeds and briars. As I assess the area, I decide this is the space I'm claiming. Time to get to work!

A little bit of fun. My lastest character creation. Meet Sally Snail.

Five Minute Friday - TALENT

The word for today for our Five Minute Friday is TALENT. If you want to join the fun. Click here.

Talent. We have talent of some kind. Something we are good at doing that gives us an outlet of creativity. Some talents lay dormant simply waiting to be discovered, while others are nurtured daily.

One of my daughters loves to draw. She draws, paints, and now sculpts. Daily taking time to do what she enjoys makes everything she tries an adventure. She doesn't ask for approval. She doesn't seek recognition. She simply creates.

I think of all she could do with this beautiful talent, and I've encouraged her to pursue different avenues. She considers my suggestions, but she loves to do the thing she loves, and she shares it with others.

Loving what you do, and doing what you love is important in pursuing your talent. Can you imagine living in a world where people take time to be happy with who they are and nurture their talents? Find the joy in who you are and pursue what makes you happy. Find your TALENT.

Here's a few samples from her sketch books.
