A-Z Blogging Challenge: Letter T

I have a mixed media A-Z for you all to enjoy! For my 26 posts enjoy great movie lines, favorite children's books, fantastic music selections, and perhaps an episode of Seinfeld or I Love Lucy! A little something for everyone!

Tombstone

Wyatt Earp: You skin that smoke wagon and we'll see what happens!
Johnny Tyler: Listen mister, I'm getting awful tired of your...
[Wyatt slaps him]
Wyatt Earp: Are you gonna do something? Or just stand there and bleed?

by Beatrix Potter

Try a Little Tenderness (it's Duckie's best scene)

(and yes, I had this song listed with Otis, and I've already had Pretty in Pink....... get the picture?.... it's one of my favorite movies!)

Lucy: Hello friends I'm your Vitameatavegamin girl. Are you tired, run-down, listless? Do you poop-out at parties? Are you unpopular? The answer to all your problems is in this little bottle. Vitameatavegamin, yes Vitameatavegamin contains vitamins, meat, vegetables, and minerals. Yes with Vitameatavegamin you can spoon your way to health. All you do is take a big tablespoon full after every meal (Lucy takes a spoonful) It's so tasty too! Tastes just like candy. So why don't you join the thousands of happy peppy people and get a great big bottle of Vitameatavegamin tomorrow? That's vita-meata-vegamin. (Lucy winks.)

Lucy(after getting drunk off of Vitametavegimin) Do you pop out at parties? Are you unpoopular? Well..., are you?

A-Z Blogging Challenge: Letter S

I have a mixed media A-Z for you all to enjoy! For my 26 posts enjoy great movie lines, favorite children's books, fantastic music selections, and perhaps an episode of Seinfeld or I Love Lucy! A little something for everyone!
Andy Dufresne: That's the beauty of music. They can't get that from you... Haven't you ever felt that way about music?
Red: I played a mean harmonica as a younger man. Lost interest in it though. Didn't make much sense in here.
Andy Dufresne: Here's where it makes the most sense. You need it so you don't forget.
Red: Forget?
Andy Dufresne: Forget that... there are places in this world that aren't made out of stone. That there's something inside... that they can't get to, that they can't touch. That's yours.
Red: What're you talking about?
Andy Dufresne: Hope.

Andy Dufresne: You know what the Mexicans say about the Pacific?
Red: No.
Andy Dufresne: They say it has no memory. That's where I want to live the rest of my life. A warm place with no memory.

Andy Dufresne: Get busy living, or get busy dying.

(It's a favorite - get it if you don't have it!)

The Soggy Bottom Boys...... this will take you to youtube.... so fun.

Jerry's Monologue: You have a close friend and they get involved, with someone in a relationship. It affects your friendship doesn't it? Because it's like you were a comedy team, and now there's this third person, you know, it kind of throws off the timing. Who's on first, I don't know, uh dear, who, who do you think is on first?

In fact, whenever a friend of mine ah, starts with a new girlfriend, we should just say, “I look like the person you use to know, but I've been modified to survive in this relationship."

A-Z Blogging Challenge: Letter R

I have a mixed media A-Z for you all to enjoy! For my 26 posts enjoy great movie lines, favorite children's books, fantastic music selections, and perhaps an episode of Seinfeld or I Love Lucy! A little something for everyone!
Maggie Carpenter: Bless me Father for I have sinned. My last confession was... well. Anyway, I have sorta a technical question. I've been having bad thoughts, really bad thoughts.
Priest Brian: Of an impure nature?
Maggie Carpenter: No, No, I want to destroy this man's life, career everything. I want revenge. Now on a sins scale how bad is that? Can I Hail Mary my way out of that?

Ike Graham: [on the perfect proposal] Look, I guarantee there'll be tough times. I guarantee that at some point, one or both of us is gonna want to get out of this thing. But I also guarantee that if I don't ask you to be mine, I'll regret it for the rest of my life, because I know, in my heart, you're the only one for me.

Lucy: Well now that you mention it, the ceiling does look pretty cloudy.

Karen Blixen: If I know a song of Africa, of the giraffe and the African new moon lying on her back, of the plows in the fields and the sweaty faces of the coffee pickers, does Africa know a song of me? Will the air over the plain quiver with a color that I have had on, or the children invent a game in which my name is, or the full moon throw a shadow over the gravel of the drive that was like me, or will the eagles of the Ngong Hills look out for me?

Denys: You've ruined it for me, you know.
Karen Blixen: Ruined what?
Denys: Being alone.

I Love Lucy - The Operetta (full episode)
(A bit of trivia for your entertainment)

Music performed on this episode included "We're the Pleasant Girls", "Lily of the Valley", "I am the Queen of the Gypsies", and "We are the Troops of the King".

During the Operetta all the singing is done live except for Desi Arnaz's "Prince Lancelot" number because he couldn't sing and do the choreography at the same.

Lucy would send out autographed pictures to fans in the costume from this episode.

According to Newsweek (1/19/53), "The Operetta" was the first episode of her parents' show that little Lucie Arnaz was allowed to stay up and watch.

This is the last episode that Marc Daniels directs. It's also his favorite.

The "I Love You" Battle

Benjamin ran by me today, hugged me, then returned to running and yells, "I love you!"

I wasn't feeling well and said quietly, "I love you too."

He then came back... the challenge was on. He stood there with his game face on.... "I love you more."

I smiled, "I love you most."

He thought, tapping his chin like Pooh Bear, "I love you more than most!" He felt victorious.

I stood my ground.... time to talk like a four year old... "I love you mostest."

He looked perplexed, but then continued, "I love you more than mostest."

I realized the 'more' was always going to one up me there. So, I pulled out the be all end all... "I love you infinity."

He looked slightly defeated trying to come up with something.

Olivia steps in and whispers to him...... the light shines in his eyes, "I love you to infinity and beyond."

Game over!

G'mork: Fantasia has no boundaries.
[laughs]
Atreyu: That's not true! You're lying.
G'mork: Foolish boy. Don't you know anything about Fantasia? It's the world of human fantasy. Every part, every creature of it, is a piece of the dreams and hopes of mankind. Therefore, it has no boundaries.
Atreyu: But why is Fantasia dying, then?
G'mork: Because people have begun to lose their hopes and forget their dreams. So the Nothing grows stronger.

Jerry: You got something in your teeth there.
George: What?
Jerry: It's green.
George: Oh, man, it's spinach! I've been walking around like this all
afternoon.
Jerry: Did you bump into anybody you knew?
George: I had a job interview.
Jerry: How'd it go?
George: Take a guess.

A-Z Blogging Challenge: Letter M

I have a mixed media A-Z for you all to enjoy! For my 26 posts enjoy great movie lines, favorite children's books, fantastic music selections, and perhaps an episode of Seinfeld or I Love Lucy! A little something for everyone! Since we visit the letter M today, I thought it best to let Mr. Ed have our television spot. Enjoy!

Signs
(I like just about everything he's done.)
Graham Hess: People break down into two groups. When they experience something lucky, group number one sees it as more than luck, more than coincidence. They see it as a sign, evidence, that there is someone up there, watching out for them. Group number two sees it as just pure luck. Just a happy turn of chance. I'm sure the people in group number two are looking at those fourteen lights in a very suspicious way. For them, the situation is a fifty-fifty. Could be bad, could be good. But deep down, they feel that whatever happens, they're on their own. And that fills them with fear. Yeah, there are those people. But there's a whole lot of people in group number one. When they see those fourteen lights, they're looking at a miracle. And deep down, they feel that whatever's going to happen, there will be someone there to help them. And that fills them with hope. See what you have to ask yourself is what kind of person are you? Are you the kind that sees signs, that sees miracles? Or do you believe that people just get lucky? Or, look at the question this way: Is it possible that there are no coincidences?
Merrill: One time, I was at this party... and I was sitting on the couch with Amanda McKinney. She was just sitting there, looking beautiful. So, I lean in to kiss her, and I realize I have gum in my mouth. So, I turn to spit it out and put it in a paper cup. I turn back, and Amanda McKinney throws up all over herself. I knew the moment it happened, it was a miracle. I could have been kissing her when she threw up. It would have scarred me for life. I may never have recovered.

(Let's just enjoy Lucy quote after quote)

Lucy Ricardo: Ever since we said "I do", there have been so many things that we don't.

Ricky Ricardo: Look, all I know is that Columbus discovered Ohio in 1776.

Ricky Ricardo: Lucy's actin' crazy.
Fred Mertz: Crazy for Lucy, or crazy for ordinary people?

Lucy Ricardo: If some other woman were to take Fred away from you, you'd be singing a different tune, too.
Ethel Mertz: Yeah, "Happy Days Are Here Again".

Ethel Mertz: Gee, this high altitude sure gives me an appetite.
Fred Mertz: What's your excuse at sea level?

Ethel Mertz: If I let my hair go like that you'd never let me hear the end of it.
Fred Mertz: Honeybunch, if the rest of you looked like that I wouldn't care if you were bald.

Ethel Mertz: There's lots of things you're good at.
Lucy Ricardo: Like what?
Ethel Mertz: Well, you're awfully good at... uh... You've always been great at...
Lucy Ricardo: Those are the same ones Ricky came up with.

Ricky Ricardo: How do spell s'perience?
Lucy Ricardo: E-x-p
Ricky Ricardo: E-x? You're kidding.

Superman: How long have you been married?
Ricky Ricardo: 15 years.
Superman: And they call me Superman!

Ethel Mertz: I refuse to go anywhere with someone who thinks I am a hippopotamus.
Ricky Ricardo: Lucy, is this true?
Lucy Ricardo: No, I just implied that she was a little hippy... though she has got the biggest potamus I've ever seen.

(I know I'm smiling!)
