A-Z Blogging Challenge: Letter D

I have a mixed media A-Z for you all to enjoy! For my 26 posts enjoy great movie lines, favorite children's books, fantastic music selections, and perhaps an episode of Seinfeld or I Love Lucy! A little something for everyone! Do you have favorite lines from this movie? It was hard for me to land on just one!

Dead Poet's Society

John Keating: We don't read and write poetry because it's cute. We read and write poetry because we are members of the human race. And the human race is filled with passion. And medicine, law, business, engineering, these are noble pursuits and necessary to sustain life. But poetry, beauty, romance, love, these are what we stay alive for. To quote from Whitman, "O me! O life!... of the questions of these recurring; of the endless trains of the faithless... of cities filled with the foolish; what good amid these, O me, O life?" Answer. That you are here - that life exists, and identity; that the powerful play goes on and you may contribute a verse. That the powerful play *goes on* and you may contribute a verse. What will your verse be?

(Oh, you must go to youtube and find the video. I'll let you do that on your own time.)

Seinfeld.... because it's a laugh out loud kind of day!
Full episode: "The Dog"

Jerry's monologue.

"I had a parakeet when I was a kid, that was the only pet that I really enjoyed.
We used to let him out of his cage, and he would fly around and my mother had
built, one entire wall of our living room was mirrored. She felt this gives you
a feeling of space. Have you ever heard this interior design principle that a
mirror makes it seem like you have an entire other room? What kind of a jerk
walks up to a mirror and goes, "Hey look, there's a whole nother room in there.
There's a guy in there looks just like me." But the parakeet will fall for
this, you'll let him out of his cage, he flies around the room, BANG! With his
little head, he would just go 'click' Ohh! And I'd always think, even if he
thinks the mirror is another room, why doesn't he at least try to avoid hitting
the other parakeet?"
